Lynx Women’s Golf Receives Grant to Purchase Indoor Putting Green

Lincoln College Athletics announced the Women’s Golf Program received a grant from the Illinois Women’s Golf Association (IWGA) Victory Fund.

The grant will be used to help the Lynx Women’s golf team practice year round. An indoor putting green will be purchased to help the Lynx advance their golf game.

Coach Carol Wilson said, “We are very thankful the IWGA selected our program as one of the recipients of their mini golf grants.” Wilson added, “The ladies are looking forward to the opportunity to be able to work on their game in the winter months!”

The Lynx were among nine other schools in the state of Illinois to receive this grant. Other recipients include: Lewis University, Western Illinois University, Monmouth College, McKendree College, Governors State, University of Illinois-Springfield, Carl Sandburg College, Illinois College, and Augustana.

The IWGA has a long history of supporting Women’s Golf Programs in the state of Illinois. The Victory Fund was started during World War II when the Illinois Women’s Golf Association began the Victory Tournament to show support for our men and women in uniform. Today, the lion’s share of the Victory Fund is used to encourage and support young golfers in the state of Illinois.

The Lynx Women’s Golf team returns to action in April.
